The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid arrived in Tokyo, Japan on an official visit to attend the State Funeral of the Former Prime Minister of Japan Abe Shinzo. The Minister will be representing the Maldives at the State Funeral on behalf of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as his special envoy.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of felicitation to Hayashi Yoshimasa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Maldives and Japan.

H.E. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday sent greetings to the Emperor of Japan, H.M. Naruhito, and the Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Fumio Kishida on the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Japan.

The Government of Maldives and the Government of Japan is set to hold its 4th Round of Japan-Maldives Policy Dialogue on 4 April 2023, in Tokyo,
