Mr. Arima Yutaka, Director General of Southeast and Southwest Asian Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan today.
During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel expressed deep appreciation for the historic ties between the two nations, which have served as a strong foundation for cooperation. State Minister Khaleel lauded the notable advancements achieved in the bilateral relationship, underscoring the instrumental and constructive role played by the Government of Japan in supporting the development journey of Maldives.
Director General Arima conveyed Japan's strong commitment to further consolidate and strengthen the longstanding relationship between Maldives and Japan. Emphasizing their shared vision, the Director General highlighted Japan's keen interest in bolstering collaboration in key areas, including development assistance and fostering people-to-people exchanges.
During the Meeting, State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Additional Secretary Amin Javed Faizal, Joint Secretary Mariyam Midhfa Naeem, Senior Undersecretary Fathimath Naeema, Assistant Director Mohamed Shujau.
