Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Hayashi Yoshimasa Departs Maldives after Official Visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, His Excellency Hayashi Yoshimasa departed today after concluding his two-day official visit to the Maldives. 

During the visit, Minister Hayashi held bilateral discussions with Minister Shahid and called on the Minister of Defence, Uza. Mariya Ahmed Didi. Minister Hayashi also attended an official lunch hosted by Minister Shahid in his honour. 

Both Minister Hayashi and Minister Shahid witnessed the Exchange of Notes under the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship [JDS] and the Exchange of Notes for the exemption of visa requirements for Diplomatic and Official passports for a period of 90 days. He also attended a Joint Handover Ceremony of a Fireboat and ICT Equipment for the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

Minister Hayashi visited Kalaafaanu School which was built under the generous aid of the Government of Japan, and also to the Seawall Tetrapod Monument, which is a token of friendship and cooperation between Maldives and Japan. 

Minister Hayashi was seen off at the Velana International Airport by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel and Senior Officials of the Ministry.
